Agnès Petit, founder of Fribourg-based start-up Mobbot, has just won the 2018 Isabelle Musy Prize thanks to her innovative 3D concrete printing technology.
Every two years, EPFL’s Prix Isabelle Musy is awarded to a Latin-Swiss woman entrepreneur active in science and technology. The prize is a cheque for 50,000 francs to support the winner’s project.
Agnès Petit, founder of start-up Mobbot, convinced the jury with her innovative technology for 3D printing all kinds of concrete elements. For example, when repairing a road, a mobile robot equipped with Mobbot technology can print the elements to be replaced directly on site. Each part is made to measure, considerably reducing the time and cost of the work. This ability to print customized concrete elements on a production line also opens up a wide range of architectural possibilities.
Since March 1, several players on the blueFACTORY site have been supporting the development of Mobbot. Agnès Petit benefits from personalized support from Fri Up, adapted infrastructures made available by blueFACTORY and close contact with competence centers established on the site, such as the smart living lab. The start-up has also obtained a zero interest loan of 150,000 francs from the Seed Capital Fribourg foundation to finance its future activities.
